Team Profile

    Jean Alport

Jean Alport

Jean was born in Zambia and raised in Zimbabwe and South Africa where her father was a rancher and a star rugby player on the African national team.  Jean is a keen horse rider and once represented and captained the Zimbabwe Junior Equestrian Team.  This experience lead Jean to spend a year in England where she was working for a Three Phase Eventer, which is an equestrian event organizer comprising of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping, also known as stadium jumping.

After Jean married and had children there was not much time for horse riding so she traded her boots and spurs for paint and brushes.  Jean has always enjoyed art and at one time she was painting and decorating wooden items and eventually there was enough demand for her products that she supplied a store in Cape Town.  Jean later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she decided to pursue a career in the dental industry and she became a Dental Assistant.

Since moving to Canada, Jean and her family have become avid hockey fans and thoroughly enjoy watching and supporting the London Knights.  Jean and her family also enjoy skiing, football and rugby.

Being that Jean is a person who has always enjoyed being around and helping others, it was most fortunate for David to become acquainted with Jean while attending minor league football games.  Jean is clearly the type of person to have on our bus.  Jean has thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the investment planning business and helping people with their retirement plans.  Talisman lucked out to find her and we're thoroughly pleased to saddle our horse with Jean along side.

Jean arranges her working hours to start and end at the same time as her son’s school hours, allowing her to be there for him before and after school.  Friday afternoons Jean can be found tending horses at a local stable, near her home.

Jean has a burning passion to return to Africa as a relief worker to offer aid and support to the elderly.  Talisman is privileged to be in a position to help her get there!
